Using cheap mobile phone to send an alarm Started by Western Yesterday at Started by sr Yesterday at 5: I am posting them so you will know where the information came from. I’m guessing my is not an LDO as that works fine with no load or caps. How can you expect the regulator to work without supplying a reference to it’s gnd? That’s probably it then. I’ve tried one from a box of them just to be sure I hadn’t shorted the old one out. I’m new at it so I’m gonna make mistakes Electro Tech is an online community with overmembers who enjoy talking about and building electronic circuits, projects and gadgets.

Roff Well-Known Member Apr 9, I got a bunch of LM to convert 5V to 3. Thread starter radiodude Start date Apr 8, As the comments suggest, you can’t produce a negative voltage from a simple linear regulator like that, unless you supply them with a negative voltage to begin with.
I guess a little extra height won’t hurt.

The problem is it seems 33uF is too big for an capacitor And does it have a load on it? The LM do l3940, as they are linear regulators. They just require two capacitors to make a fairly regulated output voltage opposite polarity of their input voltage. MathieuL How would you make an opamp output negative voltage without supplying one first?
LM regulator not putting out V | Electronics Forum (Circuits, Projects and Microcontrollers)
Playstation 1 motherboard housing fell off, help! Thanks, mvs sarma; didn’t think of that. Sign up using Facebook.
voltage regulator – Negative supply from LM – Electrical Engineering Stack Exchange
You can use any value of output capacitance on the LM so long as it is 33uF or more. How to create dashed plot in Octave?
The attachments below are out of the datasheet. It will not work.
LM3940 regulator not putting out 3.3V
Use a switching regulator capable of providing a negative output. In general, you need a switch of some om3940 to produce a negative voltage through either a switched capacitive solution like above, or a switching regulator like the V series. Is this something to do with the LM? Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. LM minimum load current.
