This is one of the finest bits of writing ever done along with the Karna Krishna meeting. They all were as enthralled as me, wondering why didn’t they read this before.
I have one “new in a box” book to sell. This work reputed to be among the best of contemporary Marathi literature, has an interesting narrative technique. The turmoil within Karna arising out of his inability to understand why he feels ashamed to declare his lineage is splendidly brought out in the tournament. Both are born Kshatriyas but are reared by low-caste foster parents. A master piece by Shivaji Sawant!

I wanted to read this book from a long as it was about Karna, one of the most fascinating characters of Mahabharata. Whereas Duryodhan becomes his friend. Looks like the author decided to do a paradigm shift of popular perception, but in doing that he actually does Duryodhana an injustice. It is Yudhishtira himself who pawned Draupadi in the game of gambling.
mtutyunjay What comes through mainly is the relief that he is Kshatriya after all, that he cannot be insulted for his birth. Sawant shows us a rebel who chooses the sun as guru and excels everyone in skill and strength through self — discipline.

Torn between wanting to stop Duryodhana and held back by Draupathi’s earlier insult of him during her Swayamvar mrutyhnjay finally makes the eawant decision of joining Duryodhana. This boo This book is Karna’s life depicting the psychological traumas undergone by the main characters surrounding his life due to social conventions imposed on the people.
Mrutyunjay 1st Edition Author: Interestingly, Samant brings a twist to Karna’s much lauded generosity using this turmoil. It teaches you the ways to deal with the dilemmas between good and bad ; What all people shivjai do to impede you, but if you can gauge everything and remain true to yourself ,nothing else matters!!

This is quite realistic, since it would be strange dawant accept that an independent thinking and otherwise just man would harbor a deep resentment sawwnt people who have not done him any great personal harm. When Karna rejects Krishna’s offer, he does so with the declaration that the coming battle will be his alone and his body will be its unique holocaust, the likes of which will never be seen and will make him eternally memorable.
The books strongest point is the way it has rooted Karna into his adoptive family. His is the legend of a tragic hero. It will tell you that life is full of ironies and contradiction.

Shivaji Sawant has written about Karna and re-imagined the Mahabharata around him. In fact when I see the inanities of the Star Plus Mahabharat, with its frenzied attempt to paint Duryodhan as a monster and Karna’s insipid support for him Main mruytunjay mitr ko nahi chod sakta, whateverand the teary hindi filmi farewell for Karna on his ‘mother’s’ lap, with all his ‘brothers’ weeping over him Duryodhana is conveniently absent from the sceneI am tempted to fling this book at the writers and ask them mrutyunhay get some perspective.
Lists with This Book. I couldn’t stop myself.
No one seems to have a great opinion of him, not even his son, Ashwathama, who is aawant to be a close friend of Karna at some level, even closer than Duryodhana. At one point he says his whole being recoiled at the thought that he was a charioteers son.
Even if your introduction to Karna is through the Mahabharata alone, you cannot help but feel empathy for the eldest son of Kunti.
