Using wireless keyboards and mice is very hit or miss when it comes to KVMs. Belkin does provide software that enables hot-key switching, but wkndows would not increase compatibility to windows 7 and 8. Unfortunately, we are not aware of a firmware upgrade that would allow this unit to work properly with Windows 7.
It’s hit or miss for every application. For the best results, it is important to have kv, that each have their own wireless dongle and a KVM that supports transparent USB pass through.

At one point in time there was a software package that could be installed to add support for “hotkey” switching, but we could no longer locate the install file or support for the optional software.
