If you want to run 3D apps, the VTBook would trash the Margi card but neither could ever compete against a real video adapter. The setup of the V-Tronic was fairly straightforward thanks to better than average documentation. This is straightforward, and the highest performance option you have. If you turn off the laptops screen and just use the external, will it support your resolution? Oh, I understand now — this is a widescreen LCD. But when you get that error message, it usually allows you to correct the settings and then restart. Any information about these 2 chips are most welcome. Once I have done all of this I simply get the warning that the monitor can’t run at the present resolution and to please set the resolution to X and 60Hz refresh. Maybe you need a newer version that supports the S3 Super Savage — or perhaps an older one: I think there must be something about Direct3D performance when two video drivers are running.

The Margi card supports hibernation, the VTBook does not. So what happens with your client probably depends on laptop manufacurer.

Mzrgi good — the client wants to use the extended desktop features, so that won’t be an issue for him. I noticed something strange lately: There are several different types of DVI connectors, which I’ve never managed to sort out.

When I go to adjust the resolution I do have higher resolutions available, all the way up to Xso I assume that it can run at this resolution, but can’t set it to do so. You need to add one more, or two if you want to run all DVI.
